Dossier to China

Well, we have some exciting news!! Our Dossier was sent to China today! It also, just so happens to be our 11th wedding anniversary today. As a good friend pointed out, what a FANTASTIC anniversary present!

Now, we wait. But this time for a much longer period of time. We still have lots to do. Education hours we need to complete. Grant applications that we need to complete and send out. We are praying for one of these to come through as it would certainly be a HUGE help.

Our Fundraiser Yard Sale was pretty successful for us. The boys made a good portion themselves on their adorable lemonade stand. Thank you to all who helped us with this project. We appreciate the donations, the hands that helped (the little and the big), the cookies that were baked and brought for the boys to sell. Our community is so wonderful! We certainly felt loved and supported. It was a wonderful encouragement. We also got to meet a few people who had been touched by adoption. Both domestic and international.

I loved watching the boys and their little friends doing their part to help bring Kameron home. Seeing Jesse Jay be a high pressured salesman and Toby upselling everyone with, "Yes, that strawberry lemonade is yummy. Would you also like a cookie?" Had me in near hysterics. When we told the boys how much they had made to help bring their brother home, their jaws nearly dropped to the floor! It was great for them to see just how successful they can be when they set their mind to something.

Soon, we will get to send another request for an update on Kameron. We LOVE these times! We get new photos and get to ask another group of up to 10 questions. The boys have enjoyed contributing and love to sit on our lap, look at the photos, and answers to the questions we get to ask. They know Kameron's favorite colors and favorite animal by heart.

The older boys are working on their chopstick skills. They love it when we make "China food." And whenever we go to the library, they insist at least one thing be something they can learn about China. I love their hearts for adoption. For their new big brother.

Upcoming Adoption Fundraiser Yard Sale

We received an email yesterday that our Dossier has completed the authentication process in Alabama and has been sent to the Chinese consulate in Texas! It will spend a week or so there and after that, it is OFF to China!

Our expectation is it will be there for a couple months. We have LOTS to do during this down time. We have fundraising, grants to complete (please pray that we would receive one of these, as financially it would be so helpful), and lots of snuggles and time needed to invest in our boys before mom and dad leave them for a couple weeks to bring their big brother home!

Next Friday and Saturday (June 12th and 13th) is our Adoption Fundraiser Yard Sale!! My sister is working on printing some T-shirts, that hopefully we will be able to begin selling then, as another fundraiser we will kick off. I'm really excited about these and cannot wait to reveal them to you! They aren't ready just yet, but we will update you on them once they are done.

We have gotten a good amount of donations for the Yard Sale from our community and are still taking anything you want to get rid of. We now have plenty (and then some) tables. We still need some folks willing to help out on Friday and Saturday. I'll even bribe you with coffee, breakfast and lunch!

We are so excited to be bringing this guy home soon! Our Adoption Agency projects we will receive our LOA (Letter of Approval) in August. Lots of upcoming milestones in the adoption world. Lots to be thankful for. Despite some recent setbacks, we really are blessed...
